.: Nightlife in Rome
When you are looking for lots of modern bars and clubs and big dance parties
of several 100 people Rome is not necessarily the
number one place to go in Europe. Rome nightlife is more like strolling up and
down the street, to see and to be seen, meeting up your friends on one of the
well known Piazzas such as the Spanish Steps and Campo di Fiori. Only much later
then a roman would go dancing to one of the little bar clubs or to one of the discotheques at Via Ostiense
(Testaccio).
In some of the most famous clubs in Rome such as the Gilda drinks are relatively
expensive. When the young Romans go out late after dinner, they often make their own party at Campo di Fiori.
They would buy a cheap bottle of wine in one of the supermarkets and just talk and drink their way through
the night.
Many of the wine bar, restaurants and Cafes around Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona and
via della Pace are also offering snacks and drinks until late at night. You will also find some Irish Pubs
where often many of the Anglophones enjoy their beers and these pubs have grown very popular amongst the
Romans.
The largest concentration of night clubs is in the district Testaccio, where one can
find more the kind of night clubs that northern European would expect to call a night club. Shows,
DJ spinning, concerts small restaurants and bars one after another. goes in an abundance of small
restaurants dancing and can concerts hear. But be aware late at night specially if you are a women
it is not recommend to be just by yourself. One can find more information about the nightlife in
